Pricing and Booking Questions
Call (07) 3067 4271How does the price of a drain job work?
Every job gets a fixed upfront price agreed before any work starts, with no hourly rate guesswork. The plumber finds the cause first, explains the fix in plain terms and quotes the whole job, so the figure you approve is the figure you pay.
Do you charge extra if a job runs longer than expected?
No hourly rate applies to drain work here. Because the price is settled on the fault before anything begins, unexpected hold-ups along the way do not change what you pay.
How soon can a plumber get here?
Ring in the morning and we can usually be there the same day, though it depends how the day's bookings fall. Call (07) 3067 4271 early and you'll get an honest arrival window rather than a promise nobody can keep.
How do I pay for the work?
Card or EFTPOS on the day itself, once the drain runs freely again. Nothing needs arranging ahead of the visit and there is no paperwork to sort out afterwards.
Service Questions
Call (07) 3067 4271What drain services do you cover?
Everything from blocked toilets and sewer lines to stormwater clearing, drain cleaning, CCTV camera work and pipe repairs, including relining where it suits the pipe. The services page lists each one and links to its own page.
How do I know if my drain needs a camera inspection?
Repeat blockages are the usual trigger, because a camera run shows the real cause on screen: roots, shifted joints or a cracked length of pipe. If one clear does not hold, the camera tells you why.
Are stormwater and sewer blockages handled differently?
Yes, because they are separate systems. Sewer lines carry wastewater to the Urban Utilities main, while stormwater lines take roof and yard rain to the street network, so the tools, the risks and the timing differ between the two.
When does a blockage become a repair job?
A clean handles grease, silt and root mass, but a pipe that has cracked, offset or collapsed needs proper drain repairs, whether that means replacing the faulty length or relining it. The camera shows which option the pipe can take.
Drain Condition Questions
Call (07) 3067 4271Does ground movement under older pipes cause blockages?
It does. The clay pipes under the interwar streets come in short lengths, and about a century of slowly moving hillside soil has left many joints out of line, so paper and roots catch on every offset they find.
Does living near Enoggera Creek change drain maintenance?
The flats by the creek stay wet long after the rain stops, and that saturated ground pushes groundwater into older pipe sockets. Lines there are better off with a check before storm season than with a wait for the next backup.
Does the local rainfall change how drains behave?
It does. Wilston averages 1013 mm of rain a year, most of it across the November to March storm season, so a line already carrying silt or root threads has little spare capacity when the heavy cells arrive.
Does the housing mix here matter for drains?
At the last census about 70.3 percent of homes were separate houses, so most drains serve a single household, but townhouses and low-rise units keep being added, and shared lines on those blocks slow down faster when something goes wrong.
